If you would like to "guest" post something about him on my blog, it would be my pleasure. My goal is to eventually turn the waterfront blog over to people to tell their own stories of the old docks.

N.W.N.C. William J. McCormack was my father's godfather and uncle and my father worked for McCormack at Transitmix from the 1950s through McCormack's death and the company's sale to Ed Halloran. I just created the McCormack wiki a few months ago based on what little I could uncover in the public record with the help of my father's recollections. peter.moran.ny@gmail.comPeterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08760641498649508874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1940719581272993691.post-81886569413893581052010-07-14T20:50:37.377-07:002010-07-14T20:50:37.377-07:00My name is Cynthia Chaldekas and I am a librarian ...My name is Cynthia Chaldekas and I am a librarian with New York Public Library at the Mid Manhattan Branch. I happen to hear your segment on the Lenny Lopate Show, re your book Dark Harbor. Fascinating history. I live in Brooklyn, have for the past 30 years. I have been going to the Brooklyn waterfront for as long as I have lived here. By the time I started going, the waterfront was now simply a wisp of what it once was. However the waterfront history is rich, anyone can see that by the geography, coupled with the greatest city in world. I so enjoyed the segment and would like to invite you to speak at the library. I am on vacation for a month, will return to work the first week of August. I am reading my email. If you are interested, please contact me. We are scheduling programs for Nov and Dec. Our programs are Monday though Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:00 PM.
Take care,
Cynthia - cchaldekas@nypl.orgUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02400607797612056465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1940719581272993691.post-17130750238945453512010-07-12T19:40:17.730-07:002010-07-12T19:40:17.730-07:00I still don't know if we were supposed to eat ...I still don't know if we were supposed to eat the half-chewed crackers or not.
